Italian Sausage Pasta Sauce

 
Ingredients -
3 Hot Italian Sausage Links, (4 ounces each), cut into 1/2-inch slices
1 pound Lean Ground Beef
1 small Onion, finely chopped
2 Garlic Cloves, minced
2 cans Tomato sauce, (15 ounces each)
1 can Stewed Tomatoes, (14-1/2 ounces)
1-2/3 cups Crushed Tomatoes in Puree
1 can Tomato Paste, (6 ounces)
1-1/2 teaspoons Sugar
1/8 teaspoon Pepper
2 tablespoons Fresh Parsley, minced
1-1/2 teaspoons Fresh Oregano, minced
Hot Cooked Pasta
 
Preparation:

1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until done and the meat is no longer pink.

2. Drain the excess fat and discard.

3. Cook the garlic, onion and beef over medium heat in a Dutch oven.

4. Add the next six ingredients to the Dutch oven.

5. Stir in the cooked sausage.

6. Bring the mixture to a boil.

7. Turn the temperature to low and simmer for 2 hours, occasionally stirring.

8. Add the fresh parsley and oregano.

9. Stir to combine.

10. Serve over hot cooked pasta.
